Can Dogs Go Off-Leash at Fisher Meadows?

Avon's animal control officer reminds readers of the leash regulations.

Dog owners are not allowed to walk their canines off the leash in most parts of Avon, but the town’s animal control officer said that many people have reported dogs roaming off leashes lately.

“I have been patrolling Fisher Meadows on a regular basis,” Avon-Canton Animal Control Officer Beverly LaPlume said Friday.

First offenders will receive a “$69 infraction,” LaPlume said, and anyone violating the town regulation a second time will receive a $100 fine.
