Farmington Doles Out $109K To Health District
The town council earlier this month voted to award the Farmington Valley Health District $108,860 in federal pandemic funds to the FVHD.

FARMINGTON, CT — Town officials have approved sending $108,860 of Farmington's American Rescue Plan Act funds to the local regional health district.
The Farmington Town Council earlier this month unanimously voted to send the grant dollars fo the Farmington Valley Health District.
The health district serves Avon, Barkhamsted, Canton, Colebrook, East Granby, Farmington, Granby, Hartland, New Hartford and Simsbury.

ARPA funds are federal dollars doled out to municipalities to help cope with any fiscal issues associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Farmington Town Manager Kathleen Blonski said the health district had asked member towns to contribute some of its ARPA funds to the regional health board.
Based on Farmington's ARPA share, it was able to contribute the $108,860, which was easily approved by town leaders July 12.
