FARMINGTON/WEST HARTFORD, CT — A Wendy's restaurant that is in both Farmington and West Hartford will soon have a major makeover.

The Farmington Planning and Zoning Commission Sept. 12 unanimously approved a site plan application for the Wendy's reconfiguration at 331 South Road, Farmington.

According to the minutes of the meeting, plans call for a new Wendy's building to go up at that location, with plans calling it to be located in West Hartford.

All of the parking, however, is planned to be located on the Farmington portion of the property, PZC meeting minutes indicate.

In addition, both driveway entrances will be in Farmington, with one of the driveways being located to a new part of the property.

The reconfiguration and new building will allow for a drive-through lane to be added, plans show.

When complete, the Wendy's would be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m./midnight daily, according to Ana Pelhank, the senior project engineer representing Inspired by Opportunity LLC, which owns that particular Wendy's franchise.

She said the restaurant will close down when construction starts, meeting minutes indicate.

The project's status with West Hartford is not known and it hasn't appeared before that town's land-use boards in recent months.
