Local Smoothie Chain Opens New Shop In Farmington
Grand opening festivities are lined up for Friday and Saturday at the new smoothie and juice operation.
FARMINGTON, CT — Folks in Farmington love their town and, now, they can literally say there is a bit of "Nirvana" in their community.
In fact, there's "Liquid Nirvana," a family-owned juice and smoothy bar that is having a grand opening celebration Friday, March 10, at its new site on 190 Main St., Farmington.
Owned by Rosy Kapur, Farmington's "Liquid Nirvana" features a wide variety of healthy juice blends, smoothies and tasty acai bowls.

On Satuday, March 11, more fun is on hand at the juice/smoothy place with Henna artists, cake, samples and selfies on tap from noon to 3 p.m.
Farmington's new store is Kapur's third "Liquid Nirvana," with other sites also located in Avon (39 E. Main St.) and Glastonbury (2333 Main St.)
In an announcement on her new smoothie place's opening, Kapur said health is as much a factor in her offerings as taste.
“I have seen first-hand how a healthy diet can improve your health and well-being, " said Kapur. “For years, we have had customers who regularly come in because of various medical ailments. Whether you are looking to lose weight, grow hair, manage a high-risk disease, and so on, we will develop options that can support your dietary regimen.”
The current economic issues afflicting the restaurant industry are not lost on Kapur, who admitted to some of the difficulties, but is confident Farmington's site will succeed.
“Opening a restaurant these days can be risky based on the current economic climate. But I have always believed in my community, and I know that they will continue to support me," she said.
"It feels good to serve up food options that offer health benefits. As a mom, I know how hard it can be to get your family to eat their fruits and veggies. As a hard-working entrepreneur, I also know how hard it can be to keep up with your own health and well-being.”
