Public Food Court Approved At Farmington Office building
The Farmington Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved a permit for the plan with some conditions.
FARMINGTON, CT — A Farmington office building will soon have a food court for both the public and its employees to utilize following town approval last month.
The Farmington Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously voted Feb. 13 to approve a special permit application for a food court at 17 Talcott Notch Road, Farmington. It is reportedly opening sometime this summer.
According to building owner Michael Reiner, there are plans to convert 3,300 square feet of first-floor space into a food court, with six or seven different food vendors.

He said the food court would mostly be utilized by tenants and outside customers in neighboring buildings, with mostly take-out business.
Reiner did tell the PZC 24 seats are proposed for indoor dining, with no plans for outdoor dining options.

The project would only come with a few extra public parking spaces, something that concerned PZC members, according to meeting minutes.
Reiner also said one of the vendors would be a breakfast/coffee operation opening up early in the morning, with other vendors open until 8 p.m., seven days a week.
The PZC approved the permit with a few conditions. They are:
• Seating capacity be capped at 24.
• Parking lot be re-striped to clearly define available parking spaces.
• Hours of operation be limited to 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.
