Glastonbury 'Click It or Ticket' Campaign a Success
Police cite 52 drivers at checkpoint.

Despite plenty of public notice, apparently several motorists didn’t read the message.
The Glastonbury Police Department in conjunction with Metro Traffic Services conducted a checkpoint as part of the Click It or Ticket, Fall 2015 Campaign on Monday. The checkpoint focused on the area of Glastonbury Boulevard.
In about three-and-a-half hours, officers issued 52 infractions to drivers.

Here are tickets issued:
- Seat Belt Violation: 30
- Cell Phone Violation: 22
- Traffic Signal Violation: 2
- Unregistered MV: 1
- Emissions Violation: 1
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that proper seat belt use reduces the risk of fatal injury to front seat passengers by 45 percent, and the risk of moderate to serious injury by 50 percent.
