Glastonbury to Hold Martin Luther King Celebration

The 15th annual program is sponsored by the Glastonbury MLK Community Initiative.

The Glastonbury community is invited to celebrate and honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 18, at Smith Middle School.

The theme of this year’s 15th annual event, sponsored by the Glastonbury MLK Community Initiative, is “Reaching Across Boundaries; Making a Difference.”

The program — which will begin at 7 p.m. — will feature keynote speaker Dean Alfred Carter from Manchester Community College and musical performances by the Naubuc School Early Bird Choir and the Glastonbury High School Madrigal Chamber Choir, as well as student-produced films and skits by the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts and winners of the Hartford Reel contest.
