The man faces a slew of charges in connection with multiple reports of car burglaries in Glastonbury on Nov. 15, 2021.

GLASTONBURY, CT — An 18-year-old who was allegedly involved in a "spree of car burglaries" in Glastonbury last November has been arrested, police announced on Friday.

Marquees Rodriguez, 18, of New Britain was arrested on a warrant Thursday — two months after Nov. 15, 2021, when the Glastonbury Police Department took multiple complaints of car burglaries involving a gray Infiniti sedan.

Police obtained a warrant for Rodriguez's arrest after an investigation identified him as one of the teens involved in the burglaries.

The first report came on Nov. 15 at 8:36 a.m., police said, when a citizen reported three to four teen males get out of a silver sedan and run onto properties on Kinne Road. Ten minutes later, a citizen reported four males in a gray Infiniti trying to steal a vehicle at 126 Kreiger Lane, police said.

During that incident the Infiniti's license plate was obtained, police said, leading officials to determine it was stolen from Bloomfield.

Then, at 9:03 a.m. a citizen reported her wallet and credit cards were stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at the end of the walking trail at 206 House St. She reported multiple fraudulent charges made on the cards.

The final report came at 9:39 a.m., when a man reported watching a male illegally enter his vehicle in the parking lot of 115 Glastonbury Blvd. and steal a license plate off another vehicle.

Later that day, Glastonbury police and members of the Greater Hartford Regional Auto Theft Task Force located the stolen Infiniti, but it eluded police. Officers identified Rodriguez as its driver, and the next day the car was recovered in West Hartford.

On Nov. 23, 2021, Auto Theft Task Force members apprehended Rodriguez in another stolen vehicle, police said, and he was charged in relation to possession of a stolen vehicle, a stolen handgun, and a high capacity magazine.

In addition to the charges brought against him by Glastonbury police, Marquees "faces many charges in other area towns as well," police said.
