In Memoriam: David W. Palmer

The Glastonbury resident passed away Jan. 14 at the age of 68.

David William Palmer of Glastonbury passed away on Thursday (January 14, 2016) after a long illness.

He is survived by his sister Linda Palmer Melia of Portland; his niece Dayle Cooper of Barkhamsted; and his numerous friends and business associates.

David grew up in Wethersfield and was a graduate of DeVeaux Academy in Buffalo, NY.

David was a member of the Marine Corps and veteran of the Vietnam War. David became a member of the Sheet Metal Local #40. He remained active in this trade becoming president and owner of Palmer Sheet Metal Company, Inc., a family owned business since 1958.

David was an avid sailor and with his Concordia Porpoise sailed the waters in CT and Newport, RI where he found his second home. His motorcycles allowed him to travel and see much of the U.S., and golf allowed him to relax and be on those greens.

His family will receive friends and associates on Thursday, January 21 from 4-7 p.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
