In Memoriam: George D. Carabase Sr.
The pizzeria owner and Glastonbury resident passed away Feb. 4 at the age of 60.

George Dukas Carabase Sr., 60, of Glastonbury, died peacefully Thursday, February 4, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
George is survived by his three sons, George Carabase Jr. of Enfield and fiance Kelly, Jesse and Amy Carabase of Glastonbury, and Joseph Carabase of Hartford; four grandchildren, Jesse, Gia, Sophia and George; his ex-wife Cathy Carabase; five siblings and their spouses, Eugenia McGee, Irene and Phillip Coviello, Penny and Robert Kemp, Maria and Tom daCunha, Anthony and Marianne Carabase; several nieces & nephews. He also leaves behind his girlfriend, Marianne Kishimoto as well as many dear friends.

He was predeceased by his loving parents Dukas and Mary Carabase.
George was well known to many as the owner of Golden Pizza in East Hartford for 35 years until it closed its doors in 2012. His beaming smile, vivacious manner and fun-loving approach, deep loyalty and pride will forever be remembered. George was compassionate, loving, resolute in his beliefs and goals.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Hartford. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Brooklawn Funeral Home, 511 Brook St., Rocky Hill.
