In Memoriam: Maureen Glenn
The long-time Glastonbury resident passed away Dec. 31 at the age of 79.

Maureen (Ahrens) Glenn, 79, of Glastonbury, died Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Hartford Hospital.
Born July 26, 1936 in Hartford, daughter of the late Justin H. and Elizabeth (McGovern) Ahrens, she had lived in Glastonbury for the past 57 years.

Maureen started her career as the front office secretary at Gideon Welles and then moved on to Aetna where she retired after many years of service. She was a longtime communicant of St. Paul Church, a volunteer at the Bushnell and on the condominium association board at Milestone Commons.
She is survived by her four daughters and their husbands, Kathleen and Dan Manley of Coventry, Sharon and Dan Davis of East Hampton, Liz and Mike Paternostro of Portland, and Margaret and Jim Horn of Portland. She also leaves her seven cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Kyle, Meghan, Emily, Michaela, Christina and Kaitlyn, a sister Justine Jolie of Middletown and many special nieces and nephews.

She was pre deceased by a brother, Henry Ahrens.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Friday, Jan. 8 from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, P.O. Box 1245, Albert Lea, MN 56007-9976.
