Special Weather Statement Issued for the Area

The National Weather Service cautions that the roads may be slippery for the Friday morning commute to work.

The National Weather Service has issued a “Special Weather Statement” for Hartford and Tolland counties for possible slippery road conditions early Friday.

According to the NWS there may be “areas of black ice/icy roads possible early Friday morning.”

The weather service states that spotty light freezing drizzle/mist also is possible Friday morning. While it may also be dry too, fog is expected because of subfreezing temps which also can result in black ice on area roadways, the weather service states.
