Behind the Counter: Back in Touch Wellness Center in Granby

Patch asked Granby resident Linda J Pollock to give us the scoop on her business, Back in Touch Wellness Center. Here's what she had to say.

Patch: When did your business open? Is it family-run?

Pollock: "Back in Touch Wellness has been in existence since 1998. I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1995; I worked for other people prior to opening my own business."

Patch: What services do you offer at your company?

Pollock: "We offer massage and other types of body work including: craniosacral, energy healing, aromatherapy, reflexology,and acupuncture. We also offer classes and workshops in the realm of healing for the mind, body, spirit."

Patch: Why did you decide to open in Granby/East Granby and what made you interested in your field?

Pollock: "I opened my practice in Granby because that is where I chose to live and, at the time,  was raising two young boys. Massage therapy is a second career for me and when I saw a class advertised for Connecticut School of Massage Therapy I just know it was the right direction for me go in and would be a good fit for the needs of my family."

Patch: Do you have a business mantra you live by?

Pollock: "Our mission is to help people feel better on all levels: mind, body, & spirit. And our practice focuses on continuing self-care to enable our clients to reach optimum health and wellness."

Patch: Can you tell us about your business background? 

Pollock: "Previously I was in customer service and have worked in business most of my life."

Pollock: "Playing! I enjoy spending time outdoors and frequently hike, snowshoe, cross country ski. I also enjoy travel to experience the great outdoors in other areas of the country as well. I enjoy music, fine dining, and yoga."
