Accused Mail Thieves Found In Greenwich With Dozens Of Checks, Stolen Items: Police
Greenwich Police said they recently received a license plate reader alert on a vehicle wanted in connection with past mail theft.
GREENWICH, CT — Three New York City men accused of stealing mail were found in Greenwich with dozens of checks and stolen items, according to police.
Kimarley McKenzie, 31, Shae Grant, 27, and Ian Brown, 20 - all of the Bronx, N.Y. - face various charges ranging from third-degree larceny to varying conspiracy to commit larceny and identity theft charges, their arrest reports note.
On July 12, Greenwich police officers received a license plate reader alert in central Greenwich on a vehicle wanted in connection with past mail theft, police said in an arrest report.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a stop. The arrest reports note a location of Lake Avenue and Parsonage Road.
"Upon further investigation, it was determined that the [arrestees] were actively committing larceny from mailboxes," police said.

Police found Grant in possession of seven stolen checks, according to his arrest report.
A search warrant of the vehicle found 30 pieces of stolen mail, 78 checks, and stolen items totaling approximately $3,700, police added.
Both Grant and Brown were able to post seven percent of their $10,000 bonds, police said. McKenzie was unable to post a $50,000 bond.
McKenzie is scheduled to appear in court on July 21, with Grant and Brown scheduled for July 28.
