Credit Card Theft, Forgery Charges Lodged Against Greenwich Man

A stolen credit was used to buy meals and a computer, according to Greenwich Police.

A Greenwich man is accused of using a stolen credit card to purchase food at two local restaurants and to buy a computer that he later sold for profit.

According to a Greenwich Police report, on Sunday the suspect surrendered to police who obtained an arrest warrant in connection with the Oct. 17 incidents.

The suspect allegedly made purchases at the Chipotle and Cosi restaurants and then bought a computer at Best Buy “which he then resold for profit,” according to the police report.

Ahmed Raza Rajput, 19, of 30 Brookside Dr., was charged with sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, credit card fraud and second-degree forgery.

Rajput was released on a written promise to appear Jan. 18 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
