Greenwich Hospital Welcomes First Baby Of 2026
"The hospital staff extends heartfelt congratulations to the family and wishes them joy and health in the year ahead," the hospital noted.
GREENWICH, CT — Greenwich Hospital on Friday announced it welcomed its first baby of 2026 at 5:11 a.m. on Jan. 1.
The newborn, a girl named Sakina, weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces, and measured 20 inches long. Sakina is the daughter of Mazhar Khan and Salma Tahir, of Shelton.
"We are so excited to welcome our first baby just days after celebrating our 10-year wedding anniversary on December 27," the couple said via an announcement from the hospital.
