Greenwich Police Officers Honored For Lifesaving Actions

GREENWICH, CT — Two Greenwich police officers are being honored for their recent lifesaving actions while off duty.
The Greenwich Police Department on Wednesday announced that Master Police Officer Michael B. O'Connor Jr. and Officer Alan P. Cybulski have been awarded with the department's Officer of the Month Award.

The award recognizes members of the GPD who "demonstrate exceptional achievement in any area of policing, including valor, lifesaving efforts, community service, and investigative work."
According to the GPD, O'Connor recently rendered lifesaving aid to a 13-year-old boy who was struck by a car in Norwalk.

"His quick actions—maintaining the victim’s airway and stabilizing a serious leg injury—were credited by investigators and doctors with saving the boy’s life," the GPD said.
Cybulski is being recognized for his response to an apparent overdose at a restaurant in Shelton, the GPD said. His use of CPR and coordination with EMS helped revive the victim, the GPD said, adding that it "directly contributing to their survival."
"Both officers exemplify outstanding dedication to duty, even while off duty, and reflect the highest standards of the Greenwich Police Department," the GPD said.
