Greenwich Police Warn Residents Of 'Harmful' TikTok Trend

GREENWICH, CT — The Greenwich Police Department is warning residents about a "harmful" TikTok trend in which individuals are forcefully kicking doors and fleeing the scene.
"This act is not harmless. It poses serious safety risks, causes property damage, and may lead to criminal charges," police said in an announcement. "What may appear as a viral 'challenge' is, in reality, a crime with real-world consequences. We encourage all community members to remain aware and report suspicious behavior."
According to CBS News, two Maryland teens were charged late last month after police say they kicked in the door of a home and damaged property.

Police said they believe the incident was part of the TikTok trend that's occurring nationally.
