GREENWICH, CT — Four people — three young adults and a minor — were arrested after stealing a luxury SUV in front of its owner in Greenwich, according to police.
The four were arrested Thursday in suburban Westchester County in New York through a collaborative effort between a Greenwich detective assigned to the Connecticut State Police auto theft task force, the New York State Police and federal authorities, law enforcement said.
The theft occurred Jan. 3 at a Shell gas station in the 1400 block of East Putnam Avenue, according to police. The owner was vacuuming out the passenger side of the BMW X7 SUV when the thieves pulled up in another vehicle, and one jumped into the driver’s seat of the SUV and sped off with it, police said. The 2025 model of the SUV starts at $84,300, according to BMW.
