Row Over Parking Space Leads to Greenwich Man's Arrest

The suspect allegedly illegally parked his vehicle on a business property.

An argument about parking on private property ended with the arrest of a Greenwich man on a breach of peace charge.

The dispute occurred about 4 p.m. Jan. 24 on North Water Street, according to a police report. The suspect is accused of illegally parking his vehicle at a private business and then arguing with the property owner and nearly running him over when he put the vehicle into gear, according to the report.

Carlos M. Barrenechea, 48, of 88 N. Water St., was charged with second-degree breach of peace and operating without a motor vehicle license. Barrenechea was released on a written promise to appear Feb. 1 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
