Several Roads Closed Due To Flooding: Greenwich Police
Heavy rain is impacting much of the region Friday.

GREENWICH, CT — With a slow-moving storm and heavy rain impacting the region Friday, several roads in Greenwich have been closed due to flooding, according to the Greenwich Police Department.
Deputy Chief Mark Zuccerella said the department is receiving calls regarding flooding around town. Police will continue to update a list of closed/impacted roads on the town website.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Greenwich until 1:30 p.m. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2.5 inches in one hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

- Turn around when encountering flooded roads; most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
- Be aware of your surroundings, and do not drive on flooded roads.
- Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses, and other drainage areas and low-lying spots.
