UConn Basketball Legends Coming To Greenwich For A Good Cause

GREENWICH, CT — The second annual UConn Legends Golf Tournament is set for Monday, July 28, at Greenwich Country Club, bringing together fans and former University of Connecticut basketball stars in support of the UConn Foundation’s Fight On Fund.

Scheduled participants include Hall of Fame coach Jim Calhoun and former players Emeka Okafor, Scott Burrell, Chris Smith, Joey Calcaterra, Donovan Clingan, Tom Moore, Hassan Diarra, Ashley Battle and Jake Voskuhl. Members of the 2026 UConn men’s basketball team are expected to attend the evening portion of the event.

The tournament, hosted by Storrs Central, will conclude with a reception and auction featuring exclusive UConn basketball experiences. Coaches will also provide a preview of the upcoming season. The event welcomes non-golfing sponsors for the evening festivities.

The Fight on Fund provides supports student-athletes and coaches. Money goes toward academic support, sports medicine, scholarship support, nutrition, and mental health services.

The event is co-chaired by UConn alumni and Greenwich natives Mike Burton and Karen Hopp. Sponsors include Double J’s, Hoo Doo Brown BBQ, Shreve Crump & Low, Tito’s, Miller Motorcars, Sovereign Brands, and MOJO Entertainment.
