If you go swimming in Groton, you probably passed by this smoke stack on your way to the pool. At least, you used to. Do you know where it is? Today, our shout out goes to William Havens and Mariellen French, who correctly guessed that last week's "where is it?" photo of the stump was taken outside the former Groton Heights School. Havens said his dog, Aiden, always gets spooked when he walks by the stump, perhaps because it's a shape he doesn't recognize. French knows the school because she attended Groton Heights from kindergarten through eighth grade, graduating in 1954. She said the students almost never went in or out the front door; the upper grades used the south side and the lower grades used the north side.
