Daily Five: An ATM, Tax Bills And A Summer Rec Program

Five Things To Know Monday, July 2

1.  Today is Monday, July 2.  The National Weather Service predicts mostly sunny skies and a high temperature of 80 degrees. The low will drop to 61 tonight.

2.  There’s a new ATM machine in Town Hall if you stop in and you need cash. The Groton Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union installed the ATM within the last couple of weeks. Credit union members are not charged a fee to use it.

3.  The is working on a link on the town website so residents can check their tax bills. The future link will connect residents to a disclaimer screen, which they can then agree to, type in their information and obtain a list of their tax bills, according to a report by the town manager.

4.  The summer recreation program which had been moved from to , returns to S.B. Butler today. The program was temporarily relocated so old boilers could be removed from the elementary. The steam boilers are being replaced.

 5.  A Portuguese submarine arrived at Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton on June 30, according to a news release by submarine Group 2 Public Affairs. The NRP Tridente has a crew of 33 sailors and is in Groton to conduct sea trials. The ship also recently took part in a multinational fleet training exercise along with about 20 ships and aircraft from countries including Germany, Denmark, Norway, Canada and Brazil.
