Daily Five: Arbitrator’s Decision on Paul Kadri Expected This Week

Five Things To Know Monday, March 4

1.  Today is Monday, March 4.  The National Weather Service predicts mostly cloudy skies, a high temperature of 41 degrees, a wind of 11 to 16 mph, and gusts of up to 28 mph. The low will drop to 28 degrees tonight.

2.  The arbitrator handling the termination proceedings for Superintendent Paul Kadri is expected to make a decision this week. Arbitrator Timothy Bornstein received legal briefs from both sides on Feb. 4, and has 30 days to render a decision, which would make the deadline Wednesday.

Kadri has been on paid administrative leave since May 7, 2012 after an investigative report was released in which multiple employees accused him of abusive and threatening behavior. Kadri issued a response through his attorney, saying the allegations are untrue. Under the agreement between Kadri and the Groton Board of Education, Bornstein’s decision will be binding on the parties.
