Expect Road Closures During July 4 Parade

Annual parade kicks off at 10 a.m. at Poquonnock Plains Park.

The Groton Town Police Department issued this press release Tuesday:

On Wednesday, July 4, the Town of Groton will be holding the Annual 4th of July Parade.

The parade starts at 10 a.m. from the area of the Poquonnock Plains, and proceeds west on Route 1, to the Groton Shopping Plaza.

Residents can expect traffic delays and road closures during the parade.  This is especially true for the residents of the Midway Oval section of town.   Access to and from this section of town will be restricted to emergency’s only, between  9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
