Police Deem Fitch High School Safe After Friday Lockdown [UPDATE]

A rumor about a gun prompted the Dec. 11 lockdown at the Groton school.

A lockdown at Groton’s Robert E. Fitch High School was lifted around noon Friday, Dec. 11, according to NBC.

Groton’s Robert E. Fitch High School was under lockdown this morning due to a rumor that someone in the school had a gun. Police officers searched the school on a room-by-room basis.

“There were no injuries to any faculty or students,” according to the Town of Groton Police Department. “Members of the Groton Town Police Department responded to conduct an investigation and commenced with a search of the school.”
