
1. Today is Monday, Feb. 28. The National Weather Service predicts rain, with thunderstorms possible after 1 p.m., and a high near 47 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms may continue tonight. The low will be about 29 degrees.
2. The Groton Board of Education meets at 7 p.m. at S. B. Butler School. The board recently sent forward a budget for the coming fiscal year to the Town Council, and discussed the possibility of having to consolidate schools.
3. The Groton Heights School Reuse Task Force meets at 5:30 p.m. in the city municipal building, and will discuss the results of a survey asking town residents what they would like to happen to the former school. The group will also discuss its preliminary recommendations about how to best use the property.

4. The Groton Public Library offers its Monday Movie for Teens from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. today. This week's showing is the movie Flipped, rated PG and based on the book by Wendelin Van Draanen. To see the event listing, click here.
5. World of Words Ireland kicks off from 7 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the Groton Public Library, with a performance by Tom O’Carroll, a singer and humorist from Dublin. The family concert is free and open to the public. For more information, click here.
