Five Things To Know Today
The Former Noank School, Financing A Small Business and Grandparents Raising Grandchildren

1. Today is Wednesday, April 6. The National Weather Service forecasts cloudy skies and a high temperature near 51 degrees. There's a chance of rain tonight, and the low will be around 36 degrees.
2. The group charged with deciding what to do with the former Noank Elementary School will ask residents how they believe the property would best be used. The Noank School Reuse Task Force meets at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Town Hall Annex, and will discuss the survey it plans to send to residents, and decide how and when it should be distributed.
3. The Small Business Administration will hold the first of a three-part series of free workshops from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. today in Groton Public Library. The session “Financing Your Business,” will feature representatives from Connecticut Community Investment Corporation and Chelsea Groton Bank. For more information, click here.

4. The support group Grandparents Raising Grandchildren meets Thursday from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Town of Groton Human Services building on Fort Hill Road. Groton has an active group of grandparents raising grandchildren, and is looking to add members. To see the event listing, click here.
