1. Today is Thursday, April 7. The National Weather Service forecasts rain, mainly before 9 a.m. Then it will gradually become sunny, with a high temperature near 51 degrees. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 33 degrees.
2. Kip Bergstrom, the executive director of the Commission on Culture And Tourism, will be the guest speaker at the Pre-Season Regional Tourism Forum on Tuesday, April 12 at Latitude 41 Restaurant at Mystic Seaport.
3. Fitch High School is holding a student versus staff charity basketball game at 7 p.m. on April 8 to raise money for the American Red Cross and support disaster relief efforts in Japan. To see the event listing, click here.

4. The Groton Public Library is holding a book sale from April 8 through April 14, to celebrate National Library Week. The sale will be open during regular library hours, so if you're stopping in, check out the books, CDs, DVDs and videos for sale.
5. If you're a Huskies Fan, there's a victory parade and rally on Sunday, April 17, to celebrate the University of Connecticut Men’s Basketball Team's victory in the national championship. The parade begins and ends at the Capitol and will start at 3 p.m. The route will wind around Bushnell Park, Main Street and Capitol Avenue, then end with a rally with the coaches and players on the north Capitol steps.
