Five Things To Know Today
The Friends Of Thames Street, A Flea Market, And Trout Fishing

1. Today is Friday, April 15. It'll be sunny, with high temperatures in the mid 50s, and mostly clear this evening, according to the National Weather Service. Lows tonight will dip down to the mid 30s.
2. The Friends of Thames Street will offer a free walking tour of Thames Street from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday. The rain date is Sunday, April 17. If you'd like to learn more about the reconstruction plan for the street, this is an opportunity to ask questions. The proposal will be on the May 2 ballot.
3. The Groton Senior Citizens' Club 55 hold its annual flea market from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday at the Groton Senior Center. The club raises money for community projects as well as programs for seniors.

4. The Neil Young tribute band "Forever Young" performs at 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Mystic Independent Theater in Stonington. Doors open at 7:30 p.m; tickets are $12 and may be purchased at the door. To see the event listing, click here.
5. Saturday is opening day of trout fishing season, if you fish. The state's Department of Environmental Protection has stocked streams, lakes and ponds with nearly 387,000 trout since March, and expects to have released 650,000 trout into local waterways by the end of May.
