1. Today is Tuesday, May 3. The National Weather Service predicts cloudy skies with a chance of showers, mostly before noon. The high temperature will reach 64 degrees, then drop to a low of about 53 degrees tonight.
2. The Groton Town Council meets at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Annex, and will discuss topics including a request by Electric Boat to breach a dam on the company property.
3. Representative Town Meeting continues its budget deliberations at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Groton Senior center, and will take up the public safety budget. The group is also expected to discuss the police departments in the city and Groton Long Point.

4. The Groton Lodge of Elks #2163 has named the first week in May "Youth Week" to honor young people who have served the community. The Groton Town Council will issue a proclamation recognizing that designation today.
