Sunny Skies, Free Food, Showers And A Non-Potable Water Source

1. Today is Thursday, Aug. 31. The weather is forecast to be sunny, with a high temperature near 78 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature around 59 degrees. 

2. The Town has established a non-potable water source for those people needing water to flush toilets and the like. Bring your own containers to the rear of the Town Hall Annex, 134 Groton Long Point Rd, across from Fitch Senior High School. 

3. CL&P has restored power to approximately 20 percent of its Groton customers. Check out this map and see how many other CL&P customers are still waiting on power. 
Groton Utilities had restored power to 98 percent of its customers by Tuesday night.

4. The American Red Cross and Office of Emergency Management served 24 meals and 32 showers Monday night at the Senior Center. They served 125 meals and 117 showers Tuesday night. The Senior Center opens at 8:30 a.m., the Respite Center is open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and meals are served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
