Groton Police Spot Check Taking Place Nov. 28

Additional patrols are on the streets focusing on the leading factors in car collisions.

In conjunction with the National “Click it or Ticket” Campaign, the Groton Town Police Department released the date of its Seatbelt/ Child Restraint Spot Check Operation.

The Town of Groton Police Department will conduct a spot check on Saturday, Nov. 28.

“The spot check will be conducted at various locations within the town and will focus on Seatbelt/ Child Restraint System Compliance, Distracted Driving, and Failure to Use Hands Free Devices,” according to police.

“As a reminder, the minimum fine for a seatbelt violation is $92,” police said.
