Accounting Opportunities Week is part of an extensive CTCPA pipeline and career awareness program that also includes Accounting is My Major (AIM) careers conferences that bring high school students to college campuses, on-campus visits to college and university students, and the popular Interview Day, which this year connected Connecticut employers with high-performing college students for a total of 225 individual interviews in one day.
“CPAs and accounting professionals are trusted advisors to hundreds of thousands of taxpayers and businesses in Connecticut,” said CTCPA Executive Director & CEO Bonnie Stewart. “Accounting Opportunities Week celebrates their contributions to the state’s economic fabric and their work to protect the interests of the public. The accounting profession provides a wide variety of career opportunities in public practice, business and industry, government, not-for-profit, and education at many different types of organizations. We are excited to share these opportunities with the next generation as we fill the pipeline for the future.”
With a membership of more than 6,000 in public practice, business and industry, government, and education, the CTCPA’s mission is to advocate on behalf of the accounting profession, foster a professional community, and provide high-quality professional development opportunities.
