Groton Municipal Meetings

Monday: The Representative Town Meeting (RTM) / Committee of the Whole - Special Meeting and Town Council Committee of the Whole/ RTM - Special Meeting is at 7 p.m. in the Groton Senior Center.

Tuesday: The Town Council Personnel, Rules, and Appointments Committee is at 6 p.m. at Town Hall Annex - Community Room 1, Water Pollution Control Authority meets at 6:30 p.m. Town Hall Annex - Community Room 3, Historic District Commission meets at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall Annex - Community Room 2, Town Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall Annex - Community Room 1.

Wednesday: The Town & City Council/BOE/RTM Liaison Committee meets at 6 p.m. in the Board of Education Administrative Office, Groton Long Point Association - Board of Directors and Zoning Commission meets at 7 p.m. in the Meeting Room.

Thursday: The Economic Development Commission meets at 4:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Annex - Community Room 3.

Just for Fun

Monday: There’s a free lecture at UConn Avery Point tonight. "The Nations Within, A Nation Without: The Hawaiian Nation between Kingdom and Tribe." by J. Kēhaulani Kauanui of Wesleyan University is free and open to the public. This lecture will be held in room 103, first floor of the Marine Sciences Building.

Tuesday: Looking for a job? The Groton Public Library would like to introduce you to the free online services they have to offer. No need to register just be there at 3 p.m.

Wednesday: There’s a steak dinner tonight at the Lions Club and proceeds will benefit the Lions Clubs International Foundation. Thursday: Ok now, before the temps get too low learn how to boost your immune system with elderberry syrup! Laura Phillips, the Associate Dean of Students at the CT Center for Massage Therapy will be instructing participants in the preparation of elderberry syrup, which is dubbed as a powerful and natural immunity enhancer. Friday: Visit the Antonio Nuñez: Latin Network for the Visual Arts 2013 Artist of the Year exhibit at UConn Avery Point. Printing, assemblage and collage by Cuban artists will be on display at the Alexey von Schlippe Gallery of Arts at the Branford House Mansion through Oct. 27.
