Man Pulled Gun During Road Rage Incident, Groton Police Say

Police said the suspect had a 9mm pistol equipped with a large-capacity magazine and a double-edged dagger.

GROTON, CT — A man is in police custody and is accused of showing a gun during a road rage incident Saturday, according to police.

Groton City police received information about the incident Saturday at 11:19 p.m. Officers then went to the suspect's Benham Road home.

Police said they found Eric White had a 9mm pistol equipped with a large-capacity magazine and a double-edged dagger. White "displayed signs of impairment" but complied with police and was taken into custody.

He was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, two counts of possession of weapons in a motor vehicle, carrying a firearm while under the influence of intoxication liquor or drugs, possession of a large-capacity magazine, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Bond was set at $50,000. White is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Monday.
