Muni Meetings, Join the Fabulous Fall StoryTime and Finances for Teens

Five things happening today - September 25

  1. The National Weather Service says today is supposed to be sunny, with a high near 68 and tonight we may see patchy fog but otherwise, it’ll be partly cloudy, with a low around 50.
  2. Wednesday muni meetings: Master Plan Committee meets at 6 p.m. at Groton Senior Center; Board of Education - Special Meeting is at 6:30 p.m. in the Groton Senior Center; Inland Wetlands Agency meets at 7 p.m. in Town Hall Annex - Community Room 2.
  3. The Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton is looking for children ages 3 – 5 to join our Fabulous Fall StoryTime. StoryTime is held on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. beginning September 25, 2013. StoryTime features classic stories as well as new favorites, song time with live music, finger plays, and simple crafts. Registration is necessary; for more information or to register please stop by the library or call 445-0392.
  4. At 5 p.m., Chelsea Groton Bank’s Community Educator, Pam Days-Luketich, will explore the ins and outs of being smart with money in a program designed for ages 12 and up at the Groton Public Library. Topics to be discussed are opening a basic bank account, the differences between debit and credit cards, tips on saving money and budgeting. This interactive program encourages teens to ask questions. No registration required.
  5. There’s still time to register for the Gettin’ Muddy for Kids fundraising mud run at Fields of Fire in Mystic. Proceeds go toward the Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern Connecticut. Check out their Facebook page for more information.
