Patch’s Poll: Do You Recognize These Eggs?

The sixth graders in Ms. Farnsworth's class at Fitch Middle School are trying to guess what will hatch from them. Do you know?

Sixth grade teacher Betzy Farnsworth wanted a topic that got students interested in writing, so she picked up eight eggs from a farmer, put them in an incubator, then asked her students at Fitch Middle School: What kind of eggs are these?

Students had to write two essays – one telling the egg whether it should hatch or stay in its shell, and the second describing what the creature might look like.

“I drew a picture of a duck,” said Josef Boyd, 11.

Teacher and Technology Coordinator Brian Byassee set up a live web cam to the incubator so students can monitor the eggs' progress from home.
