Students Meet New Teachers, New Classmates And A New Schedule

Fitch High School students and teachers were abuzz with activity on the first day of school Tuesday.

"I'm excited, I'm ready to be back," said physical education teacher Jason Wolfradt.

Students and staff began the year with a new schedule, which seemed to be the focus of the day.

Lucas Kaylor, a sophomore, said he was "excited for all new classes," which include video production and marketing. The classes will be useful as he plans his career as a pastry chef with a cooking show.

But, not all students were as enthusiastic.

"It feels like I never left," said Marissa Little, who is a junior and was assigned summer homework for AP calculus, AP English, AP Europe and IB French.

Wolfradt said that students may not act excited but they did show up and are ready to learn.

"They'll say they aren't but the first thing they wanted was their schedule," Wolfradt said of students' desire to return to work.
