Arthur Swan of Mystic served in the Navy from September 1943 to March 1946.

WWII veteran Arthur Swan lost his military service medals, which had been kept in the attic, when the family moved in 1995.

On Wednesday, Congressman Joe Courtney presented Swan with relacement medals for his service, at a ceremony at the .

Swan served in the Navy from September 1943 to March 1946. A Normandy and WWII veteran, Swan received the 11 service awards years ago, which the Swan family stored in their attic.

According to a press release from Courtney's office, the family recently asked for Courtney’s help in replacing the medals.
