Third Annual Summer Solstice Festival Kicks Off June 21

Event Will Include Performances By Local Artists

Groton’s Third Annual Summer Solstice Festival, a free afternoon of crafts and local performances, kicks off at 3 p.m. on June 21 at Groton Public Library.

The event will include a family craft at 3 p.m., a performance by the Mystic Paper Beasts at 4 p.m., and a drumming program called “Drumming About You” at 5:15 p.m.

"it's mainly to offer a fun, entertaining cultural program for everyone, for all ages, and to kick off the reading season and summer at the library," said Jean Schweid, reference librarian. About 200 people attended the event last year, she said.
