Calvin Leete Tag Sale This Weekend; Proceeds Head to New Playground Initiative
Saturday, April 27, Calvin Leete PTO will host a tag sale at the school's gymnasium from 8 AM to noon. Proceeds will be used to buy new playground equipment for the school!

The following is a press release from Calving Leete Elementary School PTO:
Calvin Leete Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) invites the community to its Annual Spring Tag Sale held on Saturday, April 27th in the school’s gymnasium. Not only is the community encouraged to attend, they are welcome to donate unwanted household items to support the PTO’s effort to raise money for a new playground.
The tag sale will be held 8 am until noon and feature a variety of household items ranging from toys, books and movies to small furniture, sporting equipment and bric-a-brac. A new twist this year is the introduction of the Early Bird Hour. For a $10 fee, “early-birds” will be allowed to enter the tag sale from 7 – 8 am before it officially opens.
“Those who previously attended the Calvin Leete Spring Tag sale know there are great treasures to be found. It is a win-win for everyone. Neighbors, Calvin Leete families and friends have a reason to spring clean, the community gets some fantastic deals and the proceeds will be donated to the PTO’s campaign to re-build its playground,” said Magalys Perez, Calvin Leete Parent and Tag Sale Organizer. “We are excited to try out our early-bird hour from 7- 8 am. Every year we have a crowd anxious to get early access to the merchandise, for a small fee they can now browse before the doors open!”
Members of the community are welcome to contribute items for the tag sale. Drop-off is scheduled for Friday, April 26th from 4:30 – 6:00 pm in the school gymnasium. Unsold items will be donated to the Goodwill. Donations are tax deductible. The Calvin Leete PTO recently received 501c3 status as a part of their playground initiative.
“The success of last year’s tag sale was the catalyst for the PTO to embark on its campaign to update its playground equipment that is more than 30 years old,” added Christine Nizolek, Calvin Leete PTO Co-President. “We raised $60,000 over the past year to replace the playscapes for the 3rd and 4th grade. Now we need to shift our focus to our K-2 students, providing a safe play environment encourages physical fitness, inspires creative play and fosters socialization. We thank the community in advance for their support in helping us achieve our goal!”
