Coming Soon: Guilford Clean Up Day!

Guilford's Green Up, a town-wide cleaning event is set for Saturday, April 27 (rain date Sunday, April 28). Everyone is invited to volunteer for an hour, or more if you want, to help pick up litter along Guilford's streets, trails, waterways and other public areas around town.

The meeting place for the event will be on the Guilford Green, where the Clean-up Committee will be from 8 AM to 3 PM. This is where volunteers can get their assignments. The Committee will also be distributing trash bags, gloves, reflective vests, water and snacks for the clean-up!

Trucks for trash and recycling collection will be at the Town Hall parking lot, according to the town's Facebook page, and will be there all weekend. 

Interested in helping? Here's what you do:

1. Pick an Area
2. You, or your organization, can reserve an area in advance, just call 203-453-5386, or just show up for an assignment
3. Once you get to your location, collect trash and bring it, recycling, tires or metal (just no HAZMAT) to the marked collection area behind Town Hall. 

Anyone can volunteer, just make sure Elementary and Middle School students are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
