Guilford Lawmaker Named Legislative Leader In Manufacturing
The lawmaker, who is a Guilford resident, is being honored for her work on transportation initiatives tied to workforce development.

GUILFORD, CT — State Sen. Christine Cohen (D-12), a Guilford resident and Senate chair of the Transportation Committee, has been selected to receive the 2025 ManufactureCT "Outstanding Leader in Government Affairs" award.
The award recognizes individuals who demonstrate leadership that positively affects manufacturing issues. Cohen is being honored for her work on transportation initiatives tied to workforce development.
Along with Guilford, Cohen represents Branford, Durham, East Haven, Killingworth, Madison, Middlefield, North Branford and Rockfall.

"Investing in transportation is not just an investment in a critical public service, but it is also a boon for workforce development and the economy," Cohen said in a statement. "I am so grateful for the partnership of ManufactureCT and I am honored to be recognized by industry leaders in a sector that is quite literally paving the way for a more connected tomorrow."

ManufactureCT, one of the nation’s longest-standing industry groups, represents firms in fields ranging from precision medical and aerospace instruments to specialty chemicals, plastics, metals, and 3D printing.
Cohen will be formally recognized at an awards ceremony in October.
