Guns Can Be Turned In For Gift Cards Saturday At Guilford PD

Guns may be exchanged with no questions asked to be converted into yard tools; event honors Ethan Song

GUILFORD, CT - If you have unwanted guns that you'd like to turn into gift cards OR cannot afford a gun safe, turn them in to the Guilford Police Dept. on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

50 free safes will be handed out to those returning guns.

Guns may be exchanged with no questions asked to be converted into yard tools.

Guilford will hold "Gun Buyback 2019" in honor of Ethan Song, who died tragically from a gunshot in January of 2018, on June 22nd from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Guilford police station.

Turn in a gun anonymously and receive a gift card.

Free gun locks and safe gun storage information provided.
Gift card amounts:
$25 – Single & double-shot handguns
$50 – Rifles and Shotguns
$100 – Pistols and Revolvers
$200 – Assault Weapons (to be determined by Guilford PD)

Guns must be delivered unloaded in clear plastic bags, and any ammunition must be delivered in a separate bag. The person dropping off the gun will not be charged with illegal possession of that specific firearm.

No questions asked and no identification will be required. Help us help our community by keeping guns out of the wrong hands.
