Let’s Bag Hunger! Support Guilford Food Bank & GHS Girls Lacrosse
GHS Girls Lacrosse Booster Club supports the Guilford Food Bank, GHS Environmental Club and Guilford Garden Club. A win-win for everyone!

The Guilford High School Girls Lacrosse Booster Club supports the Guilford Food Bank by launching the Let’s Bag Hunger! Fundraiser and Food Drive. For $20, the donor gets a reusable GHS tote bag and the Booster Club will work with the girls lacrosse team to deliver grocery store-sized tote bags filled with non-perishable foods to the Guilford Food Bank.
The idea for this “get one, give one” program came from GHS junior girls lacrosse player Claire Mackenzie. She, like the rest of the team, was given GHS tote bags to sell as a fundraiser. “In addition to helping the GHS girls lacrosse team, I thought family, friends and neighbors would also like to support an important community resource like the Guilford Food Bank,” explained Claire Mackenzie. “It seemed like a win-win for everybody.”
Let’s Bag Hunger! runs through Friday, March 1st to boost the significant post-holiday drop in donations to the Guilford Food Bank.

GHS Girls Lacrosse Coach Wendy Epke added, “We thank Claire for her thoughtfulness, initiative and creativity. It’s great to see the players working together to raise money for the team while supporting the larger Guilford community.”
Aside from the GHS Girls Lacrosse Team and the Guilford Food Bank, the campaign supports the green initiatives of the GHS Environmental Club and Guilford Garden Club, who are encouraging residents to switch from plastic bags to reusable tote bags to protect the environment.

The money raised by the GHS Girls Lacrosse Booster Club will be used to pay for extra advantages and costs not covered by the school district including assistant coaches, equipment and pre-season training activities.
