Arrest Made in Hamden Dunkin Donuts Robbery

The donut shop was robbed at gunpoint last month, according to police.

 

Hamden Police made an arrest Thursday in the robbery that took place Jan. 24 at Dunkin Donuts.

Christopher Vitti, 32, whose address wasn't available, was charged  with first-degree robbery and second-degree larceny, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

According to police, Vitti entered the store at about 4:30 p.m. and demanded money. He showed that he had a black handgun tucked in his waistband, Smith said.

After the clerk gave his an undisclosed about of money, he took off on foot towards Beacon Street, Smith said.

Vitti was held on a $350,000 bond, Smith said. Detective Angelo DeLieto conducted the investigation.
