
Dominating the Legislative Council's committee agendas this week was a routine task that can have a big affect on the running of town government.
The council is charged with approving appointments to the town's boards and commissions, and every year around this time comes before them many of those items.
Having cleared the committee in charge of the individual appointments, the full council will approve them at its meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Miller Library's Thornton Wilder Auditorium.
They include:
* Reappointment of Peter E. Vitali to the Natural Resources & Open Space Commission for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2016.
* Reappointment of Kirk Shadle to the Inland Wetlands Commission for a term to expire April 30, 2016.
* Appointment of Roberta A. Hoskie to the Community Development Citizens Advisory Commission for a term to expire March 31, 2016.
* Appointment of Philip Kimmel to the Cable Advisory Council for a term to expire June 30, 2014.
* Appointment of Matthew J. Corcoran to the Town Center Park Commission for a term to expire Nov. 1, 2014.
* Reappointment of Matthew Fitch to the Town Center Park Commission for a term Nov. 1, 2015.
* Reappointment of Debora Dozier to the Arts Commission for a term to expire May 31, 2014.
* Reappointment of Charles Kortsep to the Arts Commission for a term to expire May 31, 2015.
* Reappointments of Lorraine Brown, Tracy Nista and Lisa DeGrand to the Arts Commission for terms to expire May 31, 2016.
* Reappointment of Daniel C. Ioime to the Historic Properties Commission for a term to expire Sept. 30, 2017.
* Appointment of Craig Gelman from an alternate to a full member of the Ethics Board for a term to expire Jan. 31, 2017.
