Police are searching for the suspect who allegedly entered a man's car on Dixwell Avenue, robbed him of $100 and made him drive to New Haven while pointing a gun to his head Tuesday afternoon.

Hamden Police are searching for the man they say robbed a New Haven resident at gunpoint Tuesday when the victim got into his car on Dixwell Avenue.

The incident happened Tuesday at about 4 p.m., according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith, when the victim got into his car parked at a private parking lot at 938 Dixwell Ave.

The victim told police that after he got into the car and was waiting to pull into Arch Street, a man -- described as dark skinned -- opened a rear door, got in and put a gun to his head, Smith said.

The man then unlocked the car doors to allow two women to get in, Smith said. The man then ordered the victim to drive them to Goffe Street in New Haven.
